Jak and Sally’s e-session – The Rocks, Circular Quay

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Jak and Sally chose The Rocks for their e-session playground as it was where they first met. They were all smiles and as we wandered through the city I felt as if I was catching up with old friends.

I love this sequence – very cheeky!

Sally is somewhat obsessed with the colour pink, and for this I am grateful after seeing her vibrant top jump off the screen in the photos.

I love exploring the Rocks – at times you feel as if you’re wandering through Prague or Venice. I think this image exemplifies that feeling.

Seriously… Sally’s top just pops!

They’re such a sweet couple – their wedding on board the breathtaking Bella Vista next month is going to be a blast!

Amro and Gauri’s e-session – Newtown

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

When Gauri and Amro asked me to photograph their e-session in Newtown, I could barely contain my excitement. Their playful nature and utter inability to last for more than five seconds without cracking up laughing, combined with the energy and vibrant colour and textures of Newtown promised to result in some fantastic images. Here are a few of my favourites from the day.

Note for photographers: Most of these photos made use of off-camera lighting. Taking your flash off camera gives you the ability to add another dimension to your images – you are in control of the light.

I love the energy of this image.

My absolute favourite from the day.

Thanks for a great afternoon guys, I’m looking forward to the laughter and joy at your wedding in September.

Matt and Beck’s Silly Session – The Rocks, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Nothing can prepare you for the sheer silliness of Matt and Beck.

Beneath all the crazy, Matt and Beck share a warm-and-fuzzy love.

Beck: “Can Matt chase me around a tree like he does at home?”

Beck to me: “Make sure you get some photos of me poking my tongue out”.

My hands-down favourite from the afternoon:

Thanks for the great afternoon Matt and Beck – I can’t wait for the wedding!

Pooja and Ishu’s e-session – Sydney Harbour Bridge, Rocks, Opera House

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

This was more of a “pre-reception” photo session, as Pooja and Ishu were married in grand style in India earlier in December and came to Sydney to host a reception at Le Montage. Based in London, Pooja met Ishu in India while he was enlisted in the Indian Army. Pooja always has everyone in stitches with her razor sharp wit and self-referential humour. They both never take themselves seriously, love to dance and love each other’s company. Here are some of my favourites from their session, which led us through Sydney’s historic Rocks, Sydney Opera House, Overseas Passenger Terminal and under Sydney Harbour Bridge.

My favourite from the day – I always like to try something a bit different!

Pooja and Ishu – all the very best with your new lives in India.

Pranil and Vijita’s e-session – Nurragingy Reserve Doonside

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Last week I drove up to the spacious Nurragingy Reserve in Doonside for Vijita and Pranil’s pre-wedding photo session. They are shy, calm and contemplative and share a close connection.

I chose to present these images in a moody, soft style which I feel mirrors Vijita and Pranil’s quiet and tender relationship.

Elvyn + Nish’s e-session – La Perouse

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Having photographed Alan and Tammie earlier in the week also in La Perouse, I set myself a challenge to take a completely different set of photos of Elvyn and Nish’s e-session. This is why I love capturing the subtle yet significant differences in the relationships between people; every photo session is unique to those people, even if the location is the same.

Last weekend I met up with Nish and Elvyn for their e-session in La Perouse. Every time we meet we get on like old friends – they are open, honest and their love for each other is obvious. When they’re together they’re like two kids – always teasing and playfully pushing and grabbing each other. They definitely don’t take themselves seriously! Here are some favourites from the session.

Alan + Tammie – La Perouse

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Tammie found me through my Flickr page, of all places. Currently living in New York, she was visiting Sydney and wanted to surprise her boyfriend Alan with a couple photo shoot. After a rainy day reschedule we met up in one of my favourite places, La Perouse. Here are some of the images I captured of this playful and loving pair.

Emma and Jeremy’s e-session – Glebe

Monday, September 28th, 2009

I have been friends with Emma and Jeremy for a long time and was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their wedding. Last weekend I met them at their place in Glebe for their engagement shoot. They are really laid back and energetic couple who love music and pop culture, so the colourful, grungey surrounds of Glebe were a perfect match for their personalities.
