After getting to know Bobby and Rajkiran at their e-session in the Rocks, I got to know their families at the fun-filled Batna (cleansing) ceremony. Friends and family entertained us with some hilarious sketches of how Bobby and Rajkiran’s love blossomed over the Internet, followed by wild dancing in the packed lounge room.

The wedding on Saturday started with Bobby being dressed at home, followed by the Milni (welcoming) ceremony at the Revesby Gurudwara (Sikh Temple). Following the wedding, we went to the Opera House steps for some fun in the sun with the bridal party, followed by some traditional games at home to conclude the evening. The reception on Sunday was at the glamorous Four Seasons Hotel Sydney, decorated by the always talented Roshi from Exclusive Wedding Mandaps. It was also a pleasure working with Mark from Moving Presentations who captured some beautiful video which he compiled into a reception film which received great applause. Well done Mark!

Well done Jay. Should be very proud.

After photographing their pre-wedding session a few months back and witnessing how bubbly and extroverted Rush and Sapna were, I could tell that their wedding was going to be full of happiness and laughter.

Their wedding was at Manjit’s Concord Function Centre, and reception at Miramare Gardens.

Following some lively photos at Rush and Sapna’s Mehndi and Haldi nights (where I got to drink some Kava with the boys which gave me a nice buzz – I swear it helps me shoot better!), I met Sapna in her hotel room on the morning of the wedding.

Sapna exuded pure elegance and style:

Rush, cool and collected as ever:

I’ve rarely seen this in Sydney – Sapna arrived on a Doli carried (carefully!) by her uncles:

After some emotional goodbyes, we headed to nearby Cabarita Park for some fun photos to unwind after a big day. Rush and Sapna are such a relaxed, fun-loving pair.

The reception on the following day was at the stately Miramare Gardens. We met at Martin Place at sunset and then headed up to the venue for the big party.

Preet and Deep were married in a tradition Sikh wedding ceremony, followed by an elegant and energetic reception at the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney. After getting to know them at their e-session a few months back, and seeing what a pair of jokers they were, I knew the days leading up to the wedding and the wedding day would be a whole lot of fun.

Preet, who had requested all of the wedding events be conducted in classic Sikh tradition, looked glamorous in her traditional wedding Sari:

After the wild fun we had at their e-session last month, I knew Adam and Malisha’s wedding was going to be a day of love, beauty and plenty of laughter. They were married at the Macquarie Function Centre Liverpool in a beautiful ceremony witnessed by family and friends, followed by a grand reception with emotional speeches, great food and hours upon hours of crazy dancefloor action. Irene from VIP Decorating as always did a stellar job decorating the room.

Malisha looked absolutely flawless:

Beautiful pictures. Amazing depth of fields....

Rik and Mythili were wed in a beautiful traditional Hindu wedding ceremony at the always immaculate and well-run Concord Function Centre. We met again in the afternoon at Cabarita Park for some photos in the gorgeous afternoon sunshine, followed by a great party that continued to well after bed time.

Mythili looked so elegant in her wedding sari, and I loved the floral hair piece she wore!

Geoff and Yash grew up on opposite ends of Australia, and met in the UK. They chose the Margaret River, 3 hours south of Perth, as their wedding destination for the inherent beauty of its sprawling vineyards and shimmering coastline. They asked me to come and capture their special day which was held at Wise Wine Vineyards.

Yash being Hindu, they had designed their own special ceremony and clothing, combining Eastern and Western traditions.

Yash’s custom made and beautifully detailed dress infused elements of a Western bridal gown and an Indian bridal saree. She obviously enjoyed wearing it too!

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more scenic location than the Wise Wine Vineyard, just north of Margaret River:

Geoff and Yash exchanged garlands (a Hindu wedding ritual) before exchanging vows and rings:

As the warm sun sank below the horizon, we wandered through the Wise vineyards:

We then continued up the road to the virtually deserted Eagle Bay, and were treated to a vibrant sunset which painted the waters soft hues of blue:

After their grand wedding in India, Vish and Deepa hosted an equally impressive reception in the historic Maclaurin Hall at Sydney University. Following some photos of the newlyweds around the breathtaking grounds of Sydney University, we entered the opulently decorated hall for the reception.

Some very unique styling which I haven’t seen before – peacock feathers adorned the centrepieces and chair ribbons, and the table cards carried the theme through.
